GARDEN VISITS AND LOCATION SHOOTS
As well as a stunning, extensive walled herb garden, Judith has developed six acres of magical gardens, set in 40 acres with a river and woodland. Other walled areas include a rose garden, a sunken garden, the vegetable garden and a small white garden. There is a large formal garden with blue and yellow planting, which is divided by a long pergola and box hedges. The herbaceous garden overlooks a small lake with islands, which is linked by a woodland stream to the river and watermeadow. An orchard has been planted next to the walled vegetable garden. This location has been used for filming BBC dramas and natural history programmes like Autumn Watch. Photographers have enjoyed using the garden, conservatory, barn and farmland for furniture and garden catalogues and many other publications. This must be one of the finest spots for LOCATION SHOOTS in Britain.
GARDEN TOURS can be booked for May and June. Few gardens offer the range of planting found here. The combination of formal areas, wild and wonderful water gardens, as well as a beautiful herb garden with 150 different culinary herbs, must be unique. The garden has been filmed for BBC's Gardeners World and for Rick Stein's Food Heroes. Special tours can be arranged focusing on:
1. HERBS - with tastings and advice on growing, harvesting and herb garden design.
2. ROSES - with information on roses suited to high walls, North-facing areas, pergolas and posts, as well as ideas for combining roses with other plants and choosing the most scented and beautiful blooms.
Tours can be arranged for up to 50 people and cost £15 a head to include fresh herb teas and herb tastings.
